No,
they don't share the same agenda. One is run, as Seymour Hersh aptly
put
it, by a fascist "cult" known as the Neo-cons The other, the
Democrats, are
a pack of spineless abdicators and concessionists. The Republican Party
is
filled with menacing monsters with the worst intentions for "the
people,"
whom they despise, and whose causes they consider a trifling annoyance
or a
demotic threat. They are neo-Nietzschean wannabe uber menschean
haters of the
'mob.' The Democrats, afraid of their own shadows and unawares of who
they
really are dealing with, are completely powerless and inarticulate idiots.
In between these, we have the likes of Ralph Nader (a.k.a. Barf Nadir),
who
is on the take from the Republicans and is used as a subterfuge to disperse
and confuse the crowd. What we really lack is a true working class politics.
We ought to bury the Democratic Party in the ground so deep that
they cannot
ever come up for air. Then, we need to create a real party of the
people.
The Democrats have successfully misappropriated all the grass roots
energy
that has been fostered since the coup in 2000. We need to get rid of
them as
soon as possible.
But, to
say that the two parties are the same is really reductionistic,
historically inaccurate, and politically irresponsible, not to say utterly
wrong. Nevertheless,
your sentiments are correct.
