Reps. Wexler, Gutierrez, and Baldwin Call for Cheney Impeachment Hearings By Bob Fertik 14 Dec 2007 Three members of the House Judiciary Committee, Representatives Robert Wexler, Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) and Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), have issued a joint editorial calling for the Judiciary Committee and Congress to immediately hold impeachment hearings for Vice President [sic] Richard Cheney. The editorial entitled "A Case for Hearings," cites significant allegations made against Vice President Dick Cheney including "deceptive actions leading up to the Iraq war, the revelation of the identity of a covert agent for political retaliation, and the illegal wiretapping of American citizens."

Join Wexler's Call for Cheney Hearings --The charges are too serious to ignore. There is credible evidence that the Vice President [sic] abused the power of his office, and not only brought us into an unneccesary war but violated the civil liberties and privacy of American citizens. It is the constitutional duty of Congress to hold impeachment hearings.

Polar Bear SOS --Tell the Bush regime to protect polar bears and their critical habitat --Polar bears are completely dependent on Arctic sea ice to survive, but 80 percent of that ice could be gone in 20 years and all of it by 2040... The Bush Administration's proposal to list the polar bear as "threatened" under the Endangered Species Act is a crucial first step toward ensuring a future for these magnificent Arctic creatures. Yet the administration's proposal does not designate "critical habitat" for protection, even though melting habitat from global warming is the main threat to the polar bear's survival.
Send a message urging the Bush Administration to finalize the listing of the polar bear and designate its critical habitat.

Voting machine firm's past questioned 05 Feb 2006 (PA) Diebold Inc. soon may sell 5,600 touch-screen voting machines to Allegheny County. In 2003, then-chief executive officer Wally O'Dell -- a top fund-raiser for President [sic] Bush's re-s-election campaign -- sent out a letter to Ohio Republicans promising that he was "committed to helping Ohio deliver its electoral votes to the President next year." Diebold has told Allegheny County that it could deliver 5,600 machines by the May 16 primary election, at a cost of $11.9 million. But the county's elections board, which meets Tuesday, needs to decide soon.
